Patient dissatisfaction due to long waiting times can impact low patient compliance in making repeat visits and decreasing trust in healthcare services at the Community Health Center. A patient satisfaction survey is necessary. Based on observations conducted at the UPT Community Health Center X, Batam City, specifically in the medical records unit, there are several important aspects that our team focused on regarding patient satisfaction with waiting times for outpatient services. Changes in the service system after switching to Electronic Medical Records (EMR) are a primary focus in this study, particularly in seeing its impact on efficiency and patient perception. The implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) has had a significant positive impact on the registration process and patient waiting times at Community Health Center X, Batam City. The registration process, which was previously done manually, is now faster and more efficient with the EMR, and reduces waiting times faced by patients. Although there are challenges when the number of patient visits increases, the overall service flow has become more structured and smoother. The results of the patient satisfaction survey show that the level of satisfaction with service waiting times is quite good, with the Community Satisfaction Index (IKM) reaching 89.58, which indicates very good service quality.
Dela Manistasyara Allyka Sapana Assyifaiyah Santoso Marsela Dwi Zulfi Naratina Wahyudi Copyright (c) 2025 Medrec Journal 2025-08-31 2025-08-31 1 1 THE RELATIONSHIP OF ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS AND WAITING TIME FOR OUTPATIENT SERVICES AT THE HEALTHCARE FACILITY AT HJ. BUNDA HALIMAH HOSPITAL BATAM https://journal.univawalbros.ac.id/index.php/mj/article/view/739
Hospitals play an essential role in providing fast, accurate, and quality healthcare services to patients. One of the main indicators of service quality is patient waiting time, particularly in outpatient care. Hj. Bunda Halimah Hospital Batam has implemented an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system as an effort to improve service efficiency; however, some challenges remain, causing waiting times not to fully meet the established standards. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the use of EMR and outpatient service waiting time at Hj. Bunda Halimah Hospital Batam. The study applied a quantitative research method with an analytic survey design and a cross-sectional approach. The results showed that the average waiting time for outpatients was less than 40 minutes, and EMR was found to facilitate faster access to patient data. Bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test indicated that 85% of respondents reported a correlation between EMR use and waiting time, with a p-value of 0.007 (p < 0.05), confirming a significant relationship. In addition, 78.3% of respondents stated that outpatient services became more efficient after the implementation of EMR, particularly in the registration process and patient information access. In conclusion, the adoption of EMR plays a crucial role in reducing outpatient waiting times and enhancing the efficiency and quality of healthcare services at Hj. Bunda Halimah Hospital Batam.
Assyifaiyyah Santoso Fani Farhansyah Copyright (c) 2025 Medrec Journal 2025-08-29 2025-08-29 1 1 FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE THE PATIENT MEDICAL RECORD FILE STORAGE SYSTEM IN HOSPITALS https://journal.univawalbros.ac.id/index.php/mj/article/view/735
The organization of medical records begins when the patient is admitted to the hospital, the activity of recording the patient's medical data while receiving services at the hospital and handling medical record files which include the organization of storage and removal of files from the storage area to serve requests or borrowing for other purposes. Based on the results of observations at Hospital X, Batam City, it is known that there are problems related to the storage of medical record files, namely the accumulation of medical record files where the storage of medical record files is stored outside the medical record file rack, namely in a plastic container box which causes difficulty in searching for medical record files and files cannot be found. The purpose of this study is to determine the storage system for patient medical record files and to determine the factors that influence the storage of patient medical record files at Hospital X, Batam City. The medical record storage system used at Hospital X, Batam City is a centralized type where inpatient and outpatient patient files are combined and inpatient patients are increasing every day which causes the number of medical record files to be stored in plastic containers in order to reduce excessive accumulation of patient medical record files. In the medical record file storage system, there are also factors that influence the storage of patient medical record files at Hospital X, Batam City, which causes the accumulation of patient medical record files, namely the room factor and medical record document shelves do not match the needs of the medical record files.
Delia Altesa Putri Melisa Maharani Nimas Esya Bayazid Nur Erika Puput Ika Maharani Rifdah Salsabila Hasibuan Copyright (c) 2025 Medrec Journal 2025-08-31 2025-08-31 1 1 THE IMPACT OF ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS SUCCESS RATES ON OUTPATIENT SERVICES AT HJ. BUNDA HALIMAH HOSPITAL BATAM https://journal.univawalbros.ac.id/index.php/mj/article/view/740
The development of information technology in healthcare has encouraged hospitals to shift from manual medical records to Electronic Medical Records (EMR) as an effort to improve efficiency, accuracy, and the quality of patient services. However, in its implementation, several obstacles remain, such as data discrepancies, limited infrastructure, technical issues, and human error, which may affect the optimization of healthcare services, particularly in outpatient departments. This study aims to determine the influence of EMR implementation success on outpatient services at Hj. Bunda Halimah Hospital Batam. The research employed a quantitative method with an analytical survey design and a cross-sectional approach, and the data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed a significant influence between the level of EMR success and outpatient services, with a p-value of 0.024 (p < 0.05). The level of EMR success was mostly categorized as influential at 61.7%, while outpatient services were also considered influential at 65%. These findings indicate that proper implementation of EMR can support improvements in outpatient service quality. Therefore, the success of EMR implementation needs to be continuously optimized through improved infrastructure readiness, staff training, as well as technical and managerial support to ensure more effective and efficient healthcare services.
Allyka Sapana Desfa Anisa Copyright (c) 2025 Medrec Journal 2025-08-31 2025-08-31 1 1 ANALYSIS OF FACTORS INFLUENCING THE SUCCESS OF ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS USE AT SANTA ELISABETH HOSPITAL LUBUK BAJA BATAM CITY https://journal.univawalbros.ac.id/index.php/mj/article/view/736
The use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is an integral part of the digital transformation of the healthcare sector, mandated by Permenkes No. 24 of 2022. However, its implementation often faces obstacles such as limited human resources, lack of socialization, and technical barriers. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the success of EMR use at Santa Elisabeth Hospital Lubuk Baja, Batam City. A quantitative research method with a Cross-Sectional approach was used, involving 67 healthcare professionals as samples taken through Stratified Random Sampling. Independent variables included human resources, organizational, and technological factors, while the dependent variable was the success of EMR use. Data were collected using questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability, then analyzed with the Chi-Square test. The results showed a significant relationship between human resource factors (p=0.016), organizational factors (p=0.010), and technological factors (p=0.028) with the success of EMR use (all p < 0.05). It is concluded that the success of EMR at Santa Elisabeth Hospital Lubuk Baja is significantly influenced by these three factors, emphasizing the need for improved training, internal policy support, and strengthening system quality.
Maria Victoria Hutabarat Desfa Anisa Copyright (c) 2025 Medrec Journal 2025-08-29 2025-08-29 1 1 1 9
