FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE THE PATIENT MEDICAL RECORD FILE STORAGE SYSTEM IN HOSPITALS

The organization of medical records begins when the patient is admitted to the hospital, the activity of recording the patient's medical data while receiving services at the hospital and handling medical record files which include the organization of storage and removal of files from the storage area to serve requests or borrowing for other purposes. Based on the results of observations at Hospital X, Batam City, it is known that there are problems related to the storage of medical record files, namely the accumulation of medical record files where the storage of medical record files is stored outside the medical record file rack, namely in a plastic container box which causes difficulty in searching for medical record files and files cannot be found. The purpose of this study is to determine the storage system for patient medical record files and to determine the factors that influence the storage of patient medical record files at Hospital X, Batam City. The medical record storage system used at Hospital X, Batam City is a centralized type where inpatient and outpatient patient files are combined and inpatient patients are increasing every day which causes the number of medical record files to be stored in plastic containers in order to reduce excessive accumulation of patient medical record files. In the medical record file storage system, there are also factors that influence the storage of patient medical record files at Hospital X, Batam City, which causes the accumulation of patient medical record files, namely the room factor and medical record document shelves do not match the needs of the medical record files.
