THE IMPACT OF ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS SUCCESS RATES ON OUTPATIENT SERVICES AT HJ. BUNDA HALIMAH HOSPITAL BATAM
Abstract
The development of information technology in healthcare has encouraged hospitals to shift from manual medical records to Electronic Medical Records (EMR) as an effort to improve efficiency, accuracy, and the quality of patient services. However, in its implementation, several obstacles remain, such as data discrepancies, limited infrastructure, technical issues, and human error, which may affect the optimization of healthcare services, particularly in outpatient departments. This study aims to determine the influence of EMR implementation success on outpatient services at Hj. Bunda Halimah Hospital Batam. The research employed a quantitative method with an analytical survey design and a cross-sectional approach, and the data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed a significant influence between the level of EMR success and outpatient services, with a p-value of 0.024 (p < 0.05). The level of EMR success was mostly categorized as influential at 61.7%, while outpatient services were also considered influential at 65%. These findings indicate that proper implementation of EMR can support improvements in outpatient service quality. Therefore, the success of EMR implementation needs to be continuously optimized through improved infrastructure readiness, staff training, as well as technical and managerial support to ensure more effective and efficient healthcare services.
