Abstrak

Hospitals play an essential role in providing fast, accurate, and quality healthcare services to patients. One of the main indicators of service quality is patient waiting time, particularly in outpatient care. Hj. Bunda Halimah Hospital Batam has implemented an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system as an effort to improve service efficiency; however, some challenges remain, causing waiting times not to fully meet the established standards. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the use of EMR and outpatient service waiting time at Hj. Bunda Halimah Hospital Batam. The study applied a quantitative research method with an analytic survey design and a cross-sectional approach. The results showed that the average waiting time for outpatients was less than 40 minutes, and EMR was found to facilitate faster access to patient data. Bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test indicated that 85% of respondents reported a correlation between EMR use and waiting time, with a p-value of 0.007 (p < 0.05), confirming a significant relationship. In addition, 78.3% of respondents stated that outpatient services became more efficient after the implementation of EMR, particularly in the registration process and patient information access. In conclusion, the adoption of EMR plays a crucial role in reducing outpatient waiting times and enhancing the efficiency and quality of healthcare services at Hj. Bunda Halimah Hospital Batam.
