THE EFFECTIVENESS OF BOOKLET MEDIA ON MOTHER'S KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDE IN GIVING VITAMIN A CAPSULES

Abstract

Based on the results of Riskesdas 2018, the coverage of vitamin A capsules received in the last 12 months in children aged 6-59 months who met the standards reached 53.5%. This research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of booklet media on mothers' knowledge and attitudes in giving vitamin A capsules to toddlers at the Sidomulyo Community Health Center, Banyuasin Regency in 2023. This research used a quasi-experiment method with an only Pretest-Post test with control group design. The research was conducted at the Sidomulyo Community Health Center, Banyuasin Regency in May-June 2023. In this study, the population used was all toddlers who visited the Sidomulyo Community Health Center. The average number of toddler visits every month is 60 toddlers. In this study, the sampling method used total sampling where the entire population was sampled. Data were collected by observing mothers' knowledge and attitudes about giving vitamin A to both groups using a questionnaire. The Mann-Whitney test was carried out on both groups and the results were obtained for respondents' knowledge about vitamin A capsules with P Value = 0.001 and for mothers' attitudes towards giving vitamin A capsules with P Value = 0.005, meaning p < 0.05, meaning H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. that the Booklet Media is effective increase Mothers' Knowledge and Attitudes in Giving Vitamin A Capsules to Toddlers at the Sidomulyo Community Health Center, Banyuasin Regency in 2023. It is hoped that health workers will socialize the benefits of the Booklet Media being effective on Mothers' Knowledge and Attitudes in Giving Vitamin A Capsules to Toddlers.
