Abstract

This community service program aims to empower students of the Medical Record Study Program at Universitas X through the implementation of a Computer-Based Test (CBT) online application for competency test simulations in order to improve students’ readiness in facing competency examinations. The background of this program is based on the limited experience of students in taking computer-based examinations, the lack of standardized competency test simulation media, and the high level of anxiety experienced by students prior to the competency examination. The method used in this program was a technology-based training and mentoring approach, which included student needs analysis, development of the CBT online application, training on application usage, implementation of competency test simulations, evaluation of simulation results, and continuous mentoring for participating students. The results of the program showed that the CBT online application was successfully utilized as a competency test simulation medium with a high level of student participation. Students were able to understand the mechanism of computer-based examinations, improve their ability to answer questions within the specified time, and demonstrate increased simulation scores after participating in the training and mentoring activities. This program contributed to improving students’ digital literacy, academic readiness, adaptability to technology-based examination systems, and self-confidence in facing competency examinations. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of a CBT online-based competency test simulation can serve as an effective learning medium to support the improvement of the quality and readiness of medical record students in facing competency examinations. These findings indicate that the CBT online application has the potential to be continuously developed as a learning evaluation medium and a monitoring tool for student competency achievement in higher education institutions.
