Abstrak

Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide. The success of stroke management is highly dependent on the speed at which patients receive medical treatment during the golden time period, which is within 0–4.5 hours after the onset of symptoms. Computed Tomography (CT) scanning plays a crucial role in determining the type of stroke and guiding appropriate treatment decisions. However, public awareness regarding the importance of the golden time concept and timely CT scan examination remains limited. This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge of Aisyiyah Banteran members regarding early stroke recognition and the urgency of CT scan examinations. The intervention consisted of health education sessions, interactive discussions, FAST (Face, Arm, Speech, Time) simulation activities, and evaluation through pre-test and post-test assessments. The program involved 29 participants aged 30–60 years. The results demonstrated an increase in participants’ knowledge following the educational intervention. Participants showed improved understanding of the golden time concept, the FAST method for early stroke detection, and the role of CT scans in stroke diagnosis. Community-based health education was found to be effective in enhancing public awareness of early stroke detection and the importance of rapid medical intervention to prevent disability and mortality associated with stroke.
